Hey there, fellow data guardians! I've got some exciting news to share that's going to make our lives a whole lot easier. Microsoft Purview | Data Loss Prevention (DLP) has just introduced a new feature: the ability to copy existing rules and tweak them to fit our specific needs. No more starting from scratch every time we want to implement a rule – talk about a time saver!

Here's the lowdown: starting from early April 2024, we'll be able to access this feature in Public Preview, with General Availability slated for early May 2024. And the best part? We don't need to lift a finger as admins – this rollout will happen seamlessly without any additional action required from us.

So, how does it work? It's as simple as clicking on the shiny new "Copy" icon right next to the familiar "Edit" icon on the "Customize advanced DLP rules" page. Once we click that magic button, a whole new "Create rule" page will pop up, already filled with data from the rule we're copying. And don't worry, if you're not a fan of the default rule name ("Copied Rule Name – Copy"), you can easily change it to something that suits your fancy before hitting save.

Once we've made our tweaks and adjustments, it's just a matter of hitting save, and voila! Our new rule is ready to go, making its debut on the "Customize advanced DLP rules" page for all to see. And if for some reason we change our minds mid-process, no sweat – hitting cancel will close the page without saving any changes.

So, what's next? Well, nothing really – this awesome feature will be rolled out automatically by the specified dates, so all we need to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the newfound efficiency in our data protection endeavors.

Here's to smoother workflows and more streamlined data protection efforts ahead!

Thx for reading.
